Feed the Teacher Template for Elementary Center Games (Free)
Feed the Teacher Game
I taught online ESL for 4 years and learned – very quickly – that kids LOVE this game! It is very versatile as it can be used with different types of flash cards, as a behavior reward, or as an independent center activity. Feed the teacher template is easy to use and free to download!
How to assemble and use:
This Feed the Teacher template easily allows you to insert/paste your picture onto the page, cut two slits for the “food”, and assemble into a center full of giggles! The above video is a sped up tutorial of how to create the box/bag. Essentially:
- Digitally insert or glue in your photo in the blank space and print out.
- Cut out the gray “cut here” on the template.
- Place the template on the box/bag, trace the “cut here” with a pen or marker onto the box/bag.
- Cut out the box/bag on the line.
- Glue template onto the box/bag, making sure to align the slits.
- I use packing take to cover the front of the box (wrapping it all the way around the back) for durability.
The teacher can “eat” flash cards, vocabulary words, hand written sentences, and more! The opportunities for improving fact fluency, early reading skills, music knowledge, foreign language skills, and more are limitless!
Simple game rules:
Student draws the “food” (flash card, task card, word, etc.) and tells the group or teacher what is on the card. If they get it right, they can “feed” the teacher. If students can stay respectful, they can say a silly phrase or make a funny sound while the teacher eats.
