Hey! My name is Stephanie M – the founder and creator of The 4×6 Store and I’m here to help you get through your teaching journey! I have been working in the elementary education world since 2009, taught ESL/ML learners online for 4+ years, and now teach mainly kindergarten music part-time. I enjoy working with many different ages and ability levels, but the gifted and talented population has a special place in my heart. It is always a little crazy at our house with 3 identified gifted sons of my own (and likely a fourth!) Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or don’t see what you need!
Music
I currently teach music part-time at my children’s elementary school! I have loved working with the kindergarten (and 4th grade) music students for the last few years! My philosophy is that students learn by doing – and playing! Learn more about the activities we do in class!

While I have tried to reduce the amount of screen time in my classroom, I will be the first to admit how helpful YouTube and other media resources can be in the classroom! I believe in play-based learning. When I couldn’t find the videos I was looking for for my music room – I made them myself! I try to keep ads to a minimum. The 4×6 Store was founded on my personal need for realistic looking vocabulary flashcards. While I was teaching English to students in China with VIPKID, I was drawn to the older children who found clipart flash cards to be a bit juvenile. All of my resources I had created were able to be printed directly to 4×6 cards – hence my store’s name! I made the conscious decision to have my flashcards further conversations in English by not always isolating the objects – but using them in context. Despite not teaching ESL anymore, I find I still use these in the general classroom! Find out more about my flashcards here!
